Guided hike at Rockland Bog with Georges River Land Trust
THOMASTON — Join Georges River Land Trust for a guided group hike along the trails of the Rockland Bog Preserve on Saturday, January 10. Hikers should meet at the trailhead at 10 a.m. The hike will conclude by 12 p.m.
"The Rockland Bog is the largest peatland bog complex in the Midcoast, providing wildlife habitat and offering stunning views of rare fen ecosystems," said GRLT, in a news release.
This hike will explore newly opened trails from Beechwood Street in Thomaston. With 6.2 miles of trails from this new trailhead, users can experience the woods through hiking, birding, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and more. Stay tuned for details of a trail opening event in 2026.
Georges River Land Trust offers guided group hikes year-round, exploring their 23 nature preserves from Montville to Cushing.
This walk is open to all ages.

Directions: 389-395 Beechwood Street, in Thomaston, is the approximate location for the trailhead. Follow the dirt driveway to the large parking lot at the trailhead.
